What does “Social Soil” mean? We're still learning!

Last year, when Green for the Greater Good and Free Food for All Delaware started brainstorming about working together on community events, one theme we kept coming back to was the importance of soil as a resource that sustains us—both metaphorically and literally.  Our soil is our community!

Soil is also the basis of our health—our food systems and our ecosystems. All Social Soil events are built around sharing a free community meal. We use the time together to celebrate gardening traditions and food memories.

 

Together, we build networks to strengthen our community’s connectedness, health and wellbeing.​​
